If you’ve been in Fort Collins for any amount of time, you probably know how well-loved the restaurants are in this city. We are incredibly lucky to live in a place that offers some of the best food in the state, and this is a fact that we’ve highlighted in the past. As a matter of fact, in one of our previous blogs, we mentioned three of our favorite local restaurants. (Spoiler alert: we mentioned our love for Cafe Mexicali, Doug’s Day Diner, and Choice City Butcher and Deli.)

In today’s post, we’d like to highlight a few more restaurants that we love, and the best part of all is that if you choose to live in the apartments at Ram’s Crossing East, you’ll be close to the best food that the city has to offer! Which restaurants will make the list? Keep reading to find out!

A Few Restaurants You Have to Try

Even if you had the time and money to do it, you could visit a different restaurant in Fort Collins every single day and it would still take you months to hit all of the places that have above a 4-star rating on Google. That’s good news for those of us who live here because it means there are always plenty of options! Here are a few more local favorites.

Cafe Athens

Located on Council Tree Avenue (you know, right next to the Super Target) you’ll find some of the best food in town. Everyone loves a gyro from time to time and the ones you’ll find at Cafe Athens are amazing thanks to the combination of fresh pita bread and deliciously seasoned meat.

If you’re in the mood for something a little different, they also offer a great selection of burger meals, appetizers, and salads. Our recommendation, if you can manage to refrain from getting one of their excellent gyros of course, is to try a Greek Pizza. You can choose from options including greek sausage, gyro meat, hummus, barbecue chicken, and more. The Plato’s Pie pizza offers “Grecian gyros thinly sliced, smothered with tomatoes, sliced olives, bell peppers and onions” and is “topped with mozzarella cheese,” according to the Cafe Athens website.

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

Although Fuzzy’s has locations all across the country, that hasn’t stopped it from becoming a local staple. Their website notes that the original vision was to “be the kind of place that you never want to leave.” We’d say they have been successful, because no matter when you go, there are plenty of people enjoying their unique takes on tacos, burritos, and more.

Ask anyone who’s been there and you’ll hear that the chips and queso are to die for thanks to the “Fuzzy Dust” seasoning on top. Their soups and salads are equally appealing, but for many, the tacos are the highlight of this amazing restaurant. Choose from shredded chicken, shredded brisket, ground beef, pork, veggies, fish, tempura fish, shrimp, fajita beef, and more. Either way, it’s the little details that are included in the tacos that take them to the next level.

Others love their burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, and nachos. Whatever it is that you’re craving, we can say with confidence that it’s sure to excite your taste buds and leave you smiling and satisfied.

Locality Kitchen and Bar

With a mission of being a “locally-owned, farm to table restaurant that focuses on local products and freshly crafted cuisine,” Locality Kitchen and Bar opened its doors a few years ago in 2016. They also pride themselves on a “chef-driven menu dedicated to local and fresh ingredients.”

An excellent selection of starters includes salads, fingerling potatoes, mushrooms, brussels sprouts, mussels, burrata, focaccia bread, and more. If you visit for lunch, you can treat yourself to their Slow Roasted Colorado Pork Sandwich, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Lamb Ham Dip, Tender Belly BLT, Field to Front Door Burger, and more. Prefer something a little different? Options such as fish and chips, bolognese, rice bowls, and risotto also make for great choices.

Be sure to save room for dessert as well because white chocolate cheesecake, three berry cobbler, tarts, creme brulees, cakes, ice creams, and more are available and they are sure to please anyone with a sweet tooth. If you want local food, Locality Kitchen and Bar is about as good as it gets, making it the perfect choice whether you’re looking for somewhere to eat with friends or taking relatives from out of town somewhere special.
