In today’s post, we’d like to share a bit about an upcoming event that is a blast year after year. We are, of course, talking about the Taste of Fort Collins. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you may have just found it. New to the area and not sure what to expect? That’s okay too! We have you covered in today’s blog. Keep reading to learn more!
What Is Taste of Fort Collins?
To answer that question, we’ll leave it to the fine folks at the Fort Collins Coloradoan, who have this to say: “Taste of Fort Collins has been the place to go to sample Fort Collins’ finest cuisine and bands all in one place. More than 20 restaurants will be there for the three-day festival this year along with 80,000 attendees.”
In other words, it’s kind of a big deal.
To get the specifics, head over to the Taste of Fort Collins website to see what is going on and when it’s happening. Or, of course, keep reading, because we’ll be highlighting a few of the things that we’re most excited about!
Get the Specifics
First off, you should know that $20 will get you a pass for the entire weekend and that the place you should be is Civic Center Park, which is located downtown. Once you’re in, you’ll have access to some of the best food in the area. This year, you can get food from vendors such as Austin Taco, Bigs Meat Wagon, Human Bean, Island Noodles, Kostas Gyros, My Angels Fine Cuisine, Mile High Lobster Shack, Lazo Empanadas, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Stuft Burger Bar, Smokin’ Classix BBQ, Tacos With Altitude, Thai Pepper, Waffle Lab, and many more (if you can believe it!).
There will also be plenty of local breweries around, as well as locations serving up cocktails, margaritas, and wines. If the incredible food and amazing drinks aren’t enough for you, there will also be some great live entertainment. On Friday night, you can enjoy William Michael Morgan. Eddie Money and Everlast will be providing the entertainment on Saturday night. To cap things off on Sunday, Judah & the Lion will be sending us off with their unique flavor (pardon the pun) of music which combines elements of bluegrass, folk, Americana, rock and roll, and hip hop. The end result is something as unique as the foods you’ll find on display at Taste of Fort Collins! Of course there are plenty of other acts that will be taking the stage over the course of the event. Be sure to take a look at the complete schedule right here.
Keep Up to Date on Social Media
If you are on social media and you have a smartphone (and let’s be honest here, at this point, that’s a description of pretty much everyone), and you’re eager to keep track of what’s going on you can stay up to date with Taste of Fort Collins on both Facebook and Instagram. You can also keep track of the hashtag #tasteoffortcollins to make sure that you are always in the loop throughout the course of the event.
Make Your Plans Now!
Taste of Fort Collins is inarguably one of the coolest events of the summer and it is definitely not to be missed. As with many things in life, it’s best experienced when you’re surrounded by the people you love. In other words, grab your friends and head on over to have the time of your life and eat some of the best food around.
We’ve even heard of students who have family that lives out of town fly in to experience Taste of Fort Collins with them, so if that’s something that your family would be interested, be sure to let them know about what they can expect!
Of course it’s not outside of the realm of possibility to meet cool, like minded people at the event, so if you’re new to Fort Collins, don’t be afraid to go it alone. Chances are that you’ll bump into someone who loves the barbecue just as much as you do, allowing you to strike up a conversation and meet a new friend. It doesn’t get much better than that!
However you plan to experience Taste of Fort Collins, if you make your home in our apartment building, you’ll be near all the action. Looking for a place to live before next semester starts?
