There’s no two ways about it–being a student is incredibly difficult and expectations are often high across the board. You believe in yourself and know what you’re capable of. Combine that with what your parents expect from you and it all adds up to quite a bit of weight.

Add in the fact that you may need to get a part time job to help make ends meet and the end result can be pretty overwhelming. The good news is that with a little bit of planning you can be productive as you work your way through the challenges that come with being a college student. And as a matter of fact, that’s the topic of today’s post. If you’re a student who is juggling a number of different things and wondering how you will possibly stay afloat, this blog is for you. Wondering How You Can Stay Productive?

Live Near Campus

This first recommendation is the one that will probably save you the most amount of time. After all, what’s better than not having to drive all the way across town just to get to school? Instead you can plan your day accordingly, pop back to your apartment for lunch, and get everything done that you need to get done without wasting time.

Best of all is the fact that if you’re looking for apartments near CSU, Ram’s Crossing East offers the perfect opportunity to make your home in one of the best communities inside of one of the best neighborhoods in the city. With plenty of amazing amenities and a close proximity to classes, the library, and more, you’re sure to love living here.

Set a Schedule

There is a lot to be said for waking up each morning and simply writing out a list of things that you need to get done during the day. If you’re the type of person who prefers to utilize modern technology you could also open up your notebook app or set a few reminders on your phone to make sure that everything gets accomplished.

Our recommendation is to do it the old fashioned way, however, and purchase yourself a day planner. There are a number of options out there, but they can all be easily stashed in your backpack and that means you’ll always have it when you need it. It doesn’t get much better than that. Plus, as the old saying goes, “I’m not writing it down to remember it later, I’m writing it down to remember it now.”

Download a Few Apps

Do you find yourself in a state of near-constant distraction? It’s not hard to imagine in this day and age. There are a number of social media apps out there and they’re all vying for a bit of your attention. It can be easy to feel the need to grab your phone every ten minutes and see if you missed anything. Needless to say, this is counterproductive to getting the things done that you actually need to get done.

The good news is that there are a number of apps out there that will limit your access to the apps that are wasting your time. And no, the irony is not lost on us that it takes an app to cut down your time spent on apps. Either way, utilizing technology to stay productive throughout the day is a smart way to go.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Everyone has time for eight hours of sleep a night, right? It must be fun to live in a fantasy world! Life as a student is extremely challenging and many times there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done. This inevitably means that you’ll be staying up late to finish writing that paper or studying for tomorrow’s test.

Our recommendation is to try your best to split the difference. Numerous studies have shown how important sleep is and the younger you are, the more sleep you need. If you’re able to stick to the schedule we mentioned above relatively well, make it a point to schedule time for sleep.

Keep in mind that consistency is key, so avoid sleeping in on the weekends to try to catch up if at all possible. In the end, 6 hours every night is much better than 10 hours on the weekends. Combine your sleep schedule with a nutritious breakfast and avoid junk food and energy drinks as much as possible and you’ll be off to a good start. Oh, and be sure to drink plenty of water!

Don’t Underestimate the Power of the Library

When all is said and done, a trip to Morgan Library can make all the difference in the world. If you’ve been searching for the perfect place to study, the library is the obvious answer. Even so, it’s often a resource that students forget to take advantage of. Rather than giving in to the multiple distractions around your apartment, why not set aside some time to make a trip to the library?

You can even reserve study rooms, print out resources, and more at the library, so do your best to utilize one of the best resources that your tuition dollars are paying for by taking a trip to the library when you really need to focus on get things done.
