Exploring the city with our student apartments as your base of operations is a breeze. You see, Ram’s Crossing East, Lofts, and Townhomes is located in the middle of one of the absolute best neighborhoods in Fort Collins, and that makes it super easy to go on an adventure without ever going too far.
Chances are that you know about the great places in Fort Collins. You know, the ones everyone’s always talking about. Luckily, we also have a number of wonderful hidden gems that many people don’t know about. The good news is that we’ll be sharing a few of our favorites in today’s post.
Have You Visited These Cool Fort Collins Gems?
Looking for a cool place to grab a drink? Perhaps you’re in the market for a book or two. Maybe you’re interested in learning more about how letterpresses work. If only there were a place where you could accomplish all of those things at once! Thankfully, there is, and it’s called Wolverine Farm Letterpress & Publick House.
One of the coolest things about this local gem is that all of their profits go towards supporting literature, art, and culture right here in our community. How cool is that? They also publish books, host community events, and even display local art (which is perfect if you’re an artist looking for some exposure). They sum it all perfectly with their mission — “to publish quality literature and art that mindfully engages humans with the world” and their vision — “a community of creative, informed, and engaged citizens living in a diverse, healthy, and beautiful world.” It doesn’t get much cooler than that. Be sure to head on over to their location on Willow Street and check it out.
The Edora Pool Ice Center, often referred to as EPIC, “serves the entire community with a variety of ice skating and aquatics programs, classes, events, and activities,” and averages over a million visits each year.
Home to a number of different programs, including the upcoming Spring Ice Spectacular taking place on May 10, EPIC is a wonderful place to visit. With drop-in sessions for public skating, speed skating, stick and puck, hockey, power skating, and fitness skating, there’s a whole lot to get interested in at EPIC. They’ve even been known to host the occasional curling class, and if you’ve ever watched that sport on television, you know just how cool it would be to give it a try for yourself. If you’re searching for something to do on a lazy weekend, head on over to EPIC.
For “authentic, honest, spirited bean-to-bar chocolate, made straight from beans roasted and ground in Old Town Fort Collins,” look no further than Nuance Chocolate. Whether you’re craving a taster flight of chocolate, or some hot brewing chocolate, you’re in for a (literal) treat.
Nuance’s owners started their obsession with chocolate by going on “chocolate-tasting dates” and it’s an obsession that brought them to a chocolate museum in Costa Rica. From there, this team started crafting their own small batches of chocolate which, of course, blossomed into what is today known as Nuance Chocolate. The cacao they use to craft their specialty chocolate is ethically sourced, and the level of care they put into each of their treats is apparent. Whether you’re looking for the perfect date night or you just need a little post-class-pick-me-up (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t need that from time to time?), you’re sure to love a visit to this wonderfully delicious local gem.
